Opportunities have a way of presenting themselves when we least expect it. Therefore, in order to take advantage of the opportunities that we are given, we must be prepared. While this is true in all areas of life, it specifically applies to being a good witness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In my 30 years of being a believer in Jesus Christ, I can reflect on several missed opportunities to share the Gospel because either I wasn’t prepared or was not being intentional. While God is gracious and forgiving, I have wanted to grow in my readiness for opportunities I have to share Christ.

God’s word tells us to sanctify Christ in our hearts. This means allowing Jesus Christ to be LORD over every area of our life. In our marriage, family, neighborhood, money, habits, church, and friendships Jesus Christ must shine through. This puts the world on notice that we are living differently, and when they ask we can share the reason for which we are hopeful. Of course, we are always doing this with meekness in the fear of the Lord.

Every day you are alive is another opportunity to be prepared to live for Christ and share His love with the world. Do you realize you are God’s instrument of grace for a sick and dying world? Are you willing to pray for God to use you?

PRAYER

Dear Jesus. Please cleanse me of my sins and use my life as a living sacrifice for you. May I be your witness today to share the love of Christ with someone that I meet. By faith, may you keep my eyes open for the opportunities. In Jesus Name. Amen.
