Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Christ's Ambassador
A number of years ago I was visiting New York City to help with Billy Graham’s final crusade. One morning when we had some free time, my wife and I decided to watch the filming of Good Morning America. While we were waiting in line outside the studio, a host of black SUV’s drove down the street flanked by police cars. Several men quickly exited the vehicles and started to from a perimeter, while looking in all directions and talking into their sleeves. After a few minutes, Condoleezza Rice, the Secretary of State, was escorted out of one of the vehicles and into the building. Several minutes later she appeared again and entered her vehicle and the parade of cars quickly vanished out of sight.
As I stood there I began to think of the verse above. Due to the fact that the Secretary of State is so vital to our nation she required significant protection. That’s when it dawned on me that our relationship to Christ is even more vital to the kingdom of God than the Secretary of State is to the United States of America.
We are Christ’s ambassadors who represent Jesus Christ Himself on foreign soil. We are citizens of heaven and representatives of the King. Have you ever paused to think about how valuable and cherished you are by Almighty God? You see, when Jesus Christ ascended to heaven He promised to send His Holy Spirit to indwell and fill believers so that He can make His appeal through us.
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ I wanted to remind you today of how valuable you are to Jesus and how He is counting on you to represent Him. You have a kingdom responsibility and God is willing to work in and through you for His glory. Let’s live as Christ’s ambassadors!
