Believing in Jesus Christ is more than simply believing facts about Him or His nature. It is certainly more than adhering to a set of rules in hopes to keep Him happy with you. Believing in Jesus Christ is a relationship that is one with Him.

When Jesus was on the earth, He claimed that He and His Father were One. He also said that if you have seen Me you have seen My Father and that He only did what His Father was doing. In other words, Jesus and His Father were distinct in person but united in essence. When we see and hear what Jesus Christ did we are seeing EXACTLY who the Father is as well.

On the night Jesus was betrayed, He prayed for His disciples and future disciples that they would be one and He and His Father were one. This would be the way that the world would know that the Father had sent Him. Jesus was saying that to the extent we are rightly related with God and in fellowship with Him and other believers is the measure for which the world would know that Jesus is indeed the LORD of all.

You see, the work of God is not measured by what we do for God, but rather by what God does in and through us. The only way for God to do His work is for us to abide and let God have His way with us. When we are rightly related to Him, then streams of living water will flow from us to refresh those around us with the love of Christ. God wants to use you this day in mighty ways and the best way for that to occur is for you to believe in Him and abide in your relationship. Let Jesus do all the work through you!

PRAYER

Jesus. I am done striving for You and desire for You to do Your work through me as I simply abide in You. LORD, would You please use my life as a refreshment to others as You pour Your rivers of grace out through me. My desire is to be Yours and to be an instrument You can use to reach this world with the Gospel. To God be the glory. Amen.
